Margaret Hilda Thatcher Margaret Hilda Thatcher's overwhelming sense of self-confidence and ambition ruled her life from the time she was a small child in Grantham, though her Oxford years and during her early years in politics. It led her to become the first female Prime Minister of Great Britain, and also helped through her difficult political years as "Attila the Hun". Britain's first female Prime Minister was born on October 13, 1925 in a small room over a grocer's shop in Grandham, England. Margaret Hilda was the second daughter of Alfred and Beatrice Roberts. She often stated that she was brought up very strictly: I owe everything in my life to two things: a good home, and a good education. My home was ordinary, but good in the sense that my parents were passionately interested in the future of my sister and myself. At the same time, they gave us a good education - not only in school, but at home as well (Gardiner, 1975, p.13). As a child, thrift and practicality were instilled in Margaret's character. The Methodist church played an active part in the lives of the Roberts. She attended good schools as a child and spent her years studying with the intent of attending Oxford. Margaret arrived at Oxford in the autumn of 1943. During her years here, Margaret worked in a canteen for the war effort, continued her interest in music by joining various choirs and joined the Oxford University Conservative Association where she became very active in it's political activities. After Oxford, Margaret became the youngest female candidate of the Dartford Association. She was unofficially engaged to Denis Thatcher at this time, and they married in December 1951. Twins were born the following year. During this period, she studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1954. In the same year she was a candidate for the Oysington Conservative Association. Margaret won in a Tory landslide at Finchley, a suburb of London in 1959. Her parliamentary career had begun. A stroke of good luck gave her the opportunity of presenting her first bill almost immediately. This bill was to allow the press to attend the meetings of the local councils. The bill was eventually passed and it greatly enhanced her reputation. In 1964 she was part of the opposition... ... "ideology is empirical and instinctive, but not the product of great study or reflection, and it amounts to a rather simple (though not unsophisticated) radical libertarianism"(Mayer, 1979, p.11). Mayer goes on to say that she is hardly a mother-figure for a nation. Though she is caring and considerate with close associates, she does not project warmth or humor. The public sees her as a strict nanny, not a loving mommy. She is tough minded and has great stamina and a tenacious spirit. Thatcher has stated that she has never doubted her fundamental convictions. Margaret Thatcher grew up in an era when women were not normally successful as politicians or as business women. Even so, she managed to transform her sex from a liability to a major political asset. She may have been unpopular at times due to her approach to life and politics, but a "softer" female Prime Minister might not have been as effective. Recognition was earned through her overwhelming sense of ambition and dedication to the job: "Thatcher, Milk Snatcher" was bestowed the title Baroness and there-by received the recognition that she had craved all her life.

It was a Sunday morning when we left home. We spent 2 hours on the way to Oriental Pearl TV Tower. It was the first time to hold global animation fair. The fair attracts thousands of visitors. The display was held in cartoon drawings. Coplay contest, and other activities. At the fair were an exhibition area, costly performance area, e-sports experience zone, Japan, Europe, and the cartoon image was everywhere.My favorite activity was protagonist's Coplay. Coplay,short for â€Å"costume play†, is a performance art in which participant wear costumes to represent a specific character. Coplay is known to show creative behavior, you can see these cartoon fans heart dress. There are usually some identified Coplay celebrities that effectively represent your favorite character. You can purchase one you love to be your idol. Today, people all around the world are involved in splays fantasy fun. In the noon, we went to the revolving restaurant, where we ate seafood and drank juice.We were enjoying the beautiful view while the seats revolved. The restaurant was a great place that let people repose. I was able to fully relax myself there. It was proudly at the top of the Shanghai. The view was amazing. Finally, we went to the Observation Deck. The whole passage was made up of steel structure and glass. You can see the ground while standing on the glass floor. We were 863 feet off the ground. From Oriental Pearl TV Tower, we can have a bird's eye view of the city. In the Observation Deck where I snapped photos of the view. There were a lot of tourists.From a viewpoint overlooking Shanghai City you can see numerous high alluding, congested traffic, and dense population. Life Is like a Journey, you never know when something will come up. All Journeys are opportunities for discovery. Some Journey s are opportunities to discover the Inner self. I can never forget this unforgettable Journey. Reminiscences of this Journey often flicker In my mind every now and then. Because It was my Jovial Journey with my family. There was no nuisance surrounded us, only Jaunty moments. After that vacation, I had many more vacations. But that first vacation had some special magic In It.It Is Just an unforgettable experience. By pinpricks My most memorable childhood Journey to date is visiting Shanghai with my family. It is the year 2002 and I can remember the details of each place. But that first vacation had some special magic in it. It is Just an A Memorable Journey My first day of the trip contained making sure we had the everything we needed packed in our bags. We reached at the International Airport at ten-thirty, about an hour previous to our plane taking off. When we did finally depart from GSP airport we took a two hour ride to London, from there we got on another plane. Finally, then we reach at Dubai. The currency in Dubai was different from Pakistan one rupee is equal to 0. 03449AED or dirhams in Dubai money. When we reached in Dubai we took a taxi to pick up our rental car.We had reserved a land cruiser because it was the most inexpensive choice for our trip. We heard from there to the hotel the Star Metro Deira Hotel arriving at nearby five-thirty. We went up to or room unpacked and got settled in for about two hours before leaving for our first event of the day, Aqua venture Water ParkWe stayed there for about five or so hours before returning to the hotel. With the height of about 829 meters one cannot miss the world’s talles t construction while having a trip to Dubai.The Star Metro Deira Hotel is an wonderful art of engineering. It covers and one 134 levels and the view from the top is fabulous and beautiful. The sound and light show, which is in front of the Star Metro Deira Hotel is a splendid and colorful experience. On day two of our trip we have also saves some time to visit â€Å"The Palm Jumeirah†. This huge man-made island is a world wonder. The island is formed like a Palm and hence is called as The Palm Jumeirah. One of the best parts of this island is â€Å"Atlantis†.This is a exciting complete resort with a lot of activities and adventure sports. From swimming to the exciting water slides, every single activity was outstanding. On day three we woke up and went to the dessert safari was an fantastic experience. We started with the bumpy car ride through the dry and hot dessert. After which, we annoyed the ship of the desert, â€Å"Camels†, Our journey ended with an capti vating belly dance and an extravagant spread of delicious Arabian food. We enjoy too much at this trip. I wish we will go again for this trip soon.

The Great Depression began in 1929, during the presidencies of Herbert Hoover and Franklin Roosevelt. The Great Recession of 2008 took place at the end of President George W. Bush’s presidency and at the beginning of President Obama’s presidency. The Great Depression was a long-term decline in economic activity, and the Great Recession was a business contraction, also causing a slowdown in economy. In response to the depression, Pres. Both, Obama’s Stimulus Plan and Roosevelt’s New Deal, first aimed to decrease the unemployment rate. They created new jobs through govt. spending. In both plans they tried to revive the stock market and restore confidence in investors. They also increased federal spending to revive banks. Despite these similarities, there were many differences between the programs. Under Pres. Roosevelt the CCC and WPA gave workers moderate wages, while in the Stimulus Plan workers were paid money. The stimulus was focused on helping American keep their homes by refinancing mortgages. FDR’s New Deal aimed to feed the starving Americans. During the depression, the federal govt. was the first employer, while under the stimulus plan; money was given through privately owned companies. FDR was less efficient with his plan; because there was less money supplied by the govt. Obama did not repeat this mistake and allotted billions of dollars to end the recession. Stories sometimes are true and sometimes they are false but it is up to the public to believe in what is right and what is wrong. Firstly I will analyse the story written by the Sun, this tabloid covered the same story as the Times and therefore we can find out their intentions. The Sun had the following bold headline â€Å"Deadly strain confirmed†, I can clearly see from the start that they are trying to create a scare in the public and capture the reader’s attention very fast, this is because they don’t tell you what deadly strain they are talking about, if I were to see this in a newspaper lying around I would pick it up because it already got me worried and caught my attention. This has made me think, are they trying to inform the reader or just trying to sell their story? You only learn what the deadly strain is after you read paragraph 1 so this proves my point. On the 3rd paragraph the Sun states the following â€Å"the swan had the strain which can be fatal to humans.† Instead of just using â€Å"the swan had the H5N1 strain† the Sun chooses to create more of an impact by using the word â€Å"fatal† and implying it to humans.
